Dr. Randy Ellis
I am Dr. Randy Ellis. I graduated from the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical School in 1998. I remained at the University for a 1 year rotating small animal internship, and then practiced in White Bear Lake at a small animal hospital. In 2001 I moved to St. James. In 2003 I bought into the practice and in 2007 I finalized the purchase. I have a special interest in orthopedics, neurology, and a growing interest in Hospice and end of life care, but have really enjoyed the daily interaction with clients and patients that I have been able to watch grow over my time here.
Although my training has been mostly involved in small animal, I do enjoy doing large animal work, and anytime I can spend on farms makes my day a little better.
I am married with two beautiful daughters (you have probably seen their pictures in the office). We live in St. James and have a young energetic Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named “Charlie”.
I would like to invite everyone to come see us and it is my goal to have every visit with us to be comfortable and enjoyable from the moment you bring in a new puppy to allowing us to help with end of life.

Dr. Dana Hirsch (formerly Cannon)
My name is Dr. Dana Hirsch and, yes, I moved to Minnesota from Maryland. I went to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, located in St. Kitts, West Indies, and graduated in January 2013. For my last year of vet school, I was placed at the University of Minnesota in St. Paul. I focused my studies on production animal medicine, though I love to work with any animal that comes my way. As the clinic grows, I have become more focused on Equine Medicine to cater to the large horse population in Southwestern Minnesota.
I fell in love with the Midwest during my clinical year at the U, so naturally, I wanted to stay here. I live in St. James with my husband, 2 dogs, 3 horses, and 2 cats. On the weekends, I get to ride my horses, or I get to go hiking to breathe some fresh air.
I am excited to be a part of your animal’s health and well-being. I hope you will come see me at the St. James Vet Clinic, so I can assist you and your pet in whatever way I can.

Dr. Kristin True
My name is Dr. Kristin True and I am a part-time veterinarian at the Saint James Veterinary Clinic. I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1998 and went to work in mixed animal practice in Southern Minnesota while finishing my Masters Degree at the U of MN.
My practice journey took me from predominantly large animal and food safety work into small animal medicine – which I practiced in the Minneapolis area and in Portland OR. Portland was beautiful but Minnesota has always been home for our family and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to move back.
Although I love puppies and kittens and other young animals of all kinds, my special interest lies in helping the senior pets in our lives to age as gracefully and pain free as possible. I love working with clients on strategies to not only prolong the life of our senior canine and feline family members, but also to enhance the quality of life as they enter their twilight years.
